BIOGRAPHY
Bill Eckert, K1BNO

In 1957, Bill earned his Novice Class amateur radio license callsign KN1BNO. He used this Halicrafters S-85 receiver in the middle, and the Johnson Viking Adventurer transmitter, which ran 50 watts CW. Also, using the monitor radio on the left, Bill participated in CONELRAD, the civil defense emergency radio alert system.
Bill's antenna was a 15 meter dipole on the
roof.
Wall paper included the ARRL World Map, ARRL Certificate, Amateur Radio
Operator's License, and the Worked All States Map, as he worked to achieve the
WAS award.
